The Kindred School district serves the communities of Davenport, Hickson, Kindred, Leonard, Oxbow, and Walcott. The school
boasts a low student to teacher ratio. With ACT Test Scores at 21.0 vs the state average of 20.7, Kindred offers an excellent learning
environment. Along with a very active class B sports program, there are many extra-curricular activities available.
For a small community our recreational activities are numerous. We have 2 parks, one of which houses a multipurpose building used
for family reunions, hobby shows, dances, bazaars and meetings. In 2015 a brand new pool was constructed. There are 2 ball
diamonds, a wildlife club and a new softball complex. Fishing, hunting, ice skating, cross-country trails and snowmobiling trails are in
or near Kindred.
